The 3rd volume of the book History of Ottoman Coins, studies in detail the coins of Sultan Selim II and Sultan Murad III. As of mid 16th Century, the Ottoman Empire, which had successfully completed its establishment and had turned into an Empire encompassing three continents, had not been able to develop an internally consistent economical structure. In 1566, when Sultan Selim II acceded to the throne, the Empire was facing various difficulties disturbing the peace in both the Anatolian and Rumelia communities. The 3rd Volume of the book studies the coins struck by the Empire under prevailing conditions. This volume of the book gives useful information on Sultan Selim II and Sultan Murad III, conveying chronological events of their 29 year reign.
